What the H2 chip changes

AirPods Max 2 replace the 2024 USB-C model's H1 chip with the same Apple H2 headphone chip used in AirPods Pro 3 — one in each ear cup — plus a high dynamic range amplifier. Apple rates the noise cancellation as up to 1.5 times more effective than the previous generation. The H2 also unlocks features the older model cannot run:
